DOG IS DEAD, HARRY’S GYM and KIRK SPENCER

DOG IS DEAD are a band who have attracted the lust of my ear lobes for a long time so me and my ears are delighted to see things start to happen for them. Their new track ‘River Jordan’ is rumoured to feature in the next series of Skins guaranteeing millions of ears get to enjoy their brilliant infectious sound.

Loving ‘Old Man’ by HARRY’s GYM. A piece of tuneage the equal of this great band name. Don’t know if there is a Harry involved let alone the band members’ attitude to keeping fit what I do know is the serene female vocal on this track makes it a real aural treat. Sonically compliments ‘River Jordan’ perfectly too.

KIRK SPENCER may not compliment ‘Old Man’ or ‘River Jordan’ but he is from the same city as Dog Is Dead, Nottingham. He also makes incredible beats. Phat as all beats should be but also imaginative, spacey, creative ones. ‘Flying Through India’ sounds exactly as you’d imagine but better. The trippy vibe creates the flying sensation whilst Asian sounds abound a plenty. This guy has a big future, the ‘Timbaland of Notts’!
