I love the new BURIAL track ‘Street Halo’.
Dubby, Eerie, Techy, this track is perfect for the late, late night dance floor when only the real electronic music heads are left, most congruently enjoyed in a dirty warehouse in some grimey part of town. 21st century musical excellence as far as my ears are concerned.
Keeping it electronic but considerably less subtle and a lot more jumpy, a great Wobble-Funk (dya like the new genre name?) bassline makes ‘Nex The Bassline’ as infectious as a bus full of 18-30s revellers. Nice one ZINC and burial.
Something a million air miles away (as apposed to earth ones, an important distinction ya know) from the above is the latest piece of Moshi Moshi goodness. CLOCK OPERA are more Elbow than Zinc. ‘Belongings’ is a big, big track full of emotion, heartfelt vocals and (I know this sounds a bit random) distinctive piano. I like it a lot.
