CLOUD CONTROL, SAN CISCO and THE BARNUM MESERVE

Two minutes into first hearing the track I was feeling kinda ‘floaty’. Like I was up in the sky gliding around and looking down at planet earth (err earth calling hippy). Factor in the band behind this feeling is called CLOUD CONTROL and you have one big-asss piece of musical onomatopoeia, the track is called ‘Nothing In The Water’.

There is also more than an element of ‘float’ (clearly my new favourite word) about ‘Golden Revolver’ by SAN CISCO. The sort of tune 60s groups from the West Coast might have made if they were aware of beats and productions like we are now. Real nice tune.

THE BARNUM MESERVE are a new name to me and as of yet I’ve only heard the one track, and what a massive sounding anthem of a tune it is too. With a great video too, sampling some of that Radiohead ‘less is more vibe’ the vid is beautifully simple and very powerful. But more than anything it’s the all round massiveness of ‘Broken Window’ that really stands out.
