Dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby there is not doubt in mind that ‘Dibby Dibby Sound’ by DJ FRESH has the potential to be loathed more than AIDS but right now I’m absolutely loving one of the most infectious beats I’ve heard in 2013. It is its very ridik catchiness that enables it to simultaneously grab you (like it or not) by the balls whilst having the potential to make you vom come 2014. Right now you can’t say no but in six months time there could be one hell of a hangover.
Keeping the energy intense, keeping it brutal but in a very different way (think Dizzee playing Download for the type of incosistent consistency we’re talking about) there is more than a whiff of Sex Pistols about ‘Whats Next?’ by OFF. I’m feeling it.
So from that how about a musical handbrake into the orchestral magnificence of ‘Six’ by DEAN BLUNT. An absolutely epic modern day symphony full of melancholic strings, menacing somethings and stunningly appropriate ‘Alabama oozing’ one note guitar. Topped off with a distinctive contemporary Lou Reed meets GhostPoet Esque vocal. Oh and a Dog (in key). This is a very unique piece of New Music, quite apt for a ghoulish Halloween night. Forgive the predictability of the Lou reference, this is where I’d say RIP but we know he hated that don’t we?
