PARIS SUIT YOURSELF, SHRAG plus THE JEZABELS

I have an increasing amount of time for PARIS SUIT YOURSELF. First brought into my life by XFM’s John Kennedy this week he’s introduced me via his amazing show X-posure to their new track ‘Sometimes’. In fact so damn bad ass is this piece of New Music JK’s made it his tune of the week. Wise, wise man.

Speaking of bad ass and speaking of John Kennedy, the new SHRAG track is very much the former and very much in my world again due to the later. Lovin the energy, punk vibes and female attitude of ‘Ghosts Before Breakfast’. This track is the musical equivalent of the cool girl in the year above at school who you were madly in love with but far too scared to ever even say hello too.

Something similarly endowed with a great female vocal but aside from that absolutely nothing like Shrag (well apart from the being really good bit) is ‘A Little Piece’ by THE JEZABELS. This is the right side of uplifting, emotive and all-round moving without falling to the dark side of sounding like the soundtrack to a naff American soap (probably set in a part of California where everyone seems to be fit, even the tramps).
