The Black Keys, Shad and LA Shark

THE BLACK KEYS rock. It’s that simple. Born to do it as surely as Hendrix or Jack White. New album ‘Brothers’ is legally out there now and the big track for me is currently ‘Next Girl’.

SHAD sounds like a man born to groove. Soul, funk and hiphop all flash their sexy selves in this wee Canadian discovery that’s been seducing my ear drums non-stop since Saturday. Check ‘Yaa I Get It’ and watch your sex appeal rocket, just be careful listening on the bus next to that pensioner…

LA SHARK may be a bunch of geeks for all I know but their music oozes the cheeky charm one instantly expects of any band hailing from spitting distance of the Old Kent Road. Imagine a bunch of disenchanted players from the Millwall youth team giving up footy due to lack of creative and intellectual stimulation to live on a canal boat and then forming a band. That is the sound of LA SHARK. Check ‘A Weapon’.
