Sonically the new track from WU LYF leaves me feeling bruised, in a ‘yeah-but-ya- should-have-seen-the-other-guy’ kinda way. It;s an engaging and captivating track without being able to put your finger on why, almost simultaneously pleasurable and painful, the adrenaline from the fight countering the pain of the punch. You’ll probably think I’m talking do-lally (ain’t said that word in like time, we need more do-lally mentions). Musical Marmite fo shizzle.
On a very different tip, some Soulful HipHop to sooth any post rumbling with metaphorical WU LYF pains. DEF SOUND has knocked out a chilled but still catchy piece of tuneage that as long (and it’s quite a big ‘as-long’) as the sample doesn’t do your head in, could be this week’s medicinal soother. Great vid too, check out ‘(A)Gain’.
Finally it would not matter if they had created the worse piece of music to ever torture the planet, with a band name like PSYCHDELIC HORSESHIT how can you not give them a mention. Check their myspace below to hear what kinda sounds a band called Psychdelic Horseshit makes.
Bit biased when it comes to FRIENDLY FIRES, I thought their first album was so super duper that listening to their follow-up was always going to be a distorted experience, me willing every track to be great. Add in the invention of a new genre to the mix and what’s not to love?! Busting out a couple of Indie Slowjams, Indie RnB, or Indie’n’B/ B’nIndie as I’m calling it, I’ve got nothing but love for end of the album track ‘Helpless’.
